we proudly announce our next lecturer, professor Jurica Vuković, MD, PhD. Professor Vuković will give a lecture on “The field of pediatrics and a sick child in the 21st century".
As medical professionals, we choose the path of lifelong learning. Therefore, we are obliged to carefully listen to our young patients and their parents, learn about their whereabouts, sit by their bedside, perform the physical exams thoroughly, use diagnostic tools prudently, analyze, learn throughout life and make ourselves available whenever it's necessary.
Jurica Vuković is a distinguished pediatrician and hepatologist. He is a Professor and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine, and serves as the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb. He is a strong proponent of case-based learning and emphasizes the importance of bedside skills in medical education. Prof. Vuković has published several papers in medical journals, including a highly cited one that identified a previously unknown disease-causing mutation. Outside of work, he enjoys science fiction and rock music and takes pride in his role as a father and grandfather.
