Time passes by and this year's CROSS is almost here!

It is with great honour and pleasure that we introduce you to our first lecturer - Andro Košec, MD, PhD.

Born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1985, Andro Košec received his medical degree at the School of Medicine, the University of Zagreb in 2010, where he also completed postgraduate training in Otorhinolaryngology and a PhD program in 2017. After completing residency training at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in Zagreb in 2018, he became board-certified and is currently a Fellow in audiology, otology and neurotology at the University Hospital Center Sestre milosrdnice. His areas of professional and scientific interest are otology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, translational research in medicine and academic medicine. The first part of his lecture will be dedicated to the history of Otorhinolaryngology in Croatia. 

The rest of the presentation will be focused on cochlear implantation as the golden standard in the treatment of patients suffering from bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, its benefits and downsides.
