ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN RECOGNITION OF RETINAL CONDITIONS: PROS AND CONS - Marko Lukić MD, PhD

Dear CROSS friends,

We continue on with this year’s lecturer announcements by introducing Marko Lukić MD, PhD.

Marko Lukić, a specialist in ophthalmology got his medical degree from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb and his PhD from the School of Medicine, University of Split. He is currently working as a Medical Bank Consultant ophthalmologist for Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust where he serves as a first-ever virtual consultant. He also severs as a tutor and lecturer to optometrists at the University College of London. He is a reviewer in the Retina Journal and European Journal of Ophthalmology.  In this year's CROSS, he will give a lecture about artificial intelligence in recognition of retinal conditions. He will speak about current AI models and whether they are accurate enough to be implemented in real-life clinical practices and the medico-legal implications of using AI-based systems in standard patient care.
