WORKSHOPS - A look inside a brain with epilepsy

Scientific program 28.02.2020.

Dear colleagues and young doctors,

We  continue with our workshop announcements and proudly present you the next super inovative one - A look inside a brain with epilepsy!

What is epilepsy? Is it dangerous? How is it treated? What should you do when someone around you experiences a seizure? In this workshop, we will try to answer these questions in a visual and interactive way using Neurići, little blinking neuron simulators.

Epilepsy is not a rare disease, and when it occurs, it affects every part of an individual’s life, including those around them. Learn what goes wrong in epilepsy by putting together a functional model of the brain with Neurići (little neurons). These tiny boards aim to provide a different approach to understanding complex brain circuits and networks. Their main element is an LED indicator which continuously reports the state of an individual “neuron”. Neurići, once connected together, can therefore be used to make a textbook description of a circuit come alive, just as it exists in vivo. Once you’ve got the theory down, you’ll learn what to do should you witness someone having a seizure, so you’ll be able to jump to their aid in the blink of an eye.
